e a &lt;span style="color:#ff99ff;"&gt;linfa&lt;/span&gt;. O sangue é constituindo por plasma e elementos figurados (hemácias, leucócitos, e plaquetas). O plasma, ao abandonar os capilares sanguíneos, difunde-se, ocupando os espaços entre as células, constituindo o liquido intersticial ou linfa intersticial em cuja composição entra o pasma e os leucócitos. Deste fluido as células obtêm os nutrientes e o oxigénio de que necessitam e libertam para ele as substâncias resultantes do seu metabolismo, como o dióxido de carbono e os produtos azotados. O líquido intersticial, rico em produtos de excreção, passa, ao nível dos capilares venosos, de novo para o sangue. Uma parte da linfa intersticial é recolhida em capilares linfáticos, que se distinguem dos sanguíneos por serem fechados nas extremidades, constituindo a &lt;span style="color:#993399;"&gt;linfa circulante&lt;/span&gt;, que é conduzida até vasos de maior calibre, os vasos linfáticos. A linfa circulante entra na corrente sanguínea pouco antes do sangue entrar na aurícula direita. A renovação constante da linfa intersticial permite que as células obtenham continuamente nutrientes e oxigénio e eliminem os produtos resultantes do seu metabolismo. É desta forma que se estabelece um intercâmbio contínuo de substâncias entre as células e o sangue, uma vez que este nunca abandona os vasos sanguíneos.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:verdana;font-size:85%;"&gt;Nos vertebrados, para além do aparelho circulatório sanguíneo, existe, portanto, um sistema linfático formado pelos vasos linfáticos ramificados em capilares linfáticos e pelos órgãos linfóides. A sístole dos ventrículos obriga o sangue a fluir para as artérias, aumentando a pressão nas suas paredes e obrigando-as a dilatar. Quando o músculo cardíaco relaxa, durante a diástole, a pressão nas paredes das artérias baixa. O regresso das paredes à posição inicial impulsiona o sangue, afastando-o do coração.&lt;br /&gt;            À medida que as artérias se ramificam em arteríolas, a área interna global aumenta, fazendo diminuir a pressão sanguínea, ocorrendo, consequentemente, um abaixamento da velocidade.&lt;br /&gt;            Nos capilares arteriais, e devido ao seu reduzido diâmetro, a resistência ao fluxo aumenta, o que conduz à saída do plasma para o liquido intersticial. A grande área dos capilares, a sua parede fina e a diminuição da velocidade do sangue aumentam a eficácia das trocas de materiais entre o sangue e o liquido intersticial, por difusão e osmose.&lt;br /&gt;            Os capilares venosos reúnem-se originando as vénulas, que convergem para vasos de grande diâmetro – as veias. Essas cavidades cheias de liquido estão em contacto com as células do corpo do animal e constituem o hemocélio. As dilatações do vaso dorsal, na região do abdómen, constituem um coração em forma de tubo. Cada dilatação comunica com o exterior por aberturas laterais, os ostíolos. Quando os corações se contraem, os ostíolos fecham e o sangue é bombeado para a parte anterior do corpo, de onde flui para as lacunas. Quando os corações relaxam, os ostíolos abrem, criando um vácuo no interior do vaso dorsal, que produz uma força de sucção que obriga o liquido a regressar ao coração. Neste animal existem dois vasos, um dorsal e outro ventral ao tubo digestivo, que comunicam entre si por vasos laterais. O vaso dorsal funciona como um coração, bombeando o sangue da parte de trás para a frente do corpo. Na parte anterior do corpo existem cinco vasos laterais (corações laterais ou arcos aórticos) que, ao contraírem, impulsionam o sangue para o vaso ventral.&lt;br /&gt;Nos sistemas circulatórios abertos as células contactam directamente com o fluido circulante, sendo as trocas mais eficazes. No entanto, nos sistemas circulatórios fechados o sangue flui mais rapidamente que nos sistemas circulatórios abertos, o que aumenta a eficiência do transporte de materiais às células, assegurando níveis mais elevados de taxas metabólicas. Permitem também o fornecimento de sangue às células mais carenciadas, diminuindo a irrigação em áreas do corpo que nesse momento não precisem de um aporte de oxigénio e nutrientes tão elevado. Na maioria dos animais, o fornecimento de nutrientes, trocas gasosas e expulsão dos resíduos azotados do líquido intersticial são realizados por um sistema circulatório.&lt;br /&gt; Nos animais mais simples, como a hidra e a planária, devido ao reduzido número de camadas celulares, todas as células estão muito próximas da cavidade gastrovascular ou do meio externo. As pequenas distâncias que os nutrientes e os gases têm de percorrer permitem a sua difusão para o interior e o exterior das células, pelo que estes animais não possuem sistema circulatório.&lt;br /&gt; Nos animais mais complexos, o elevado grau de diferenciação tecidular e orgânica faz com que as distancias entre as superfícies de absorção dos nutrientes e as diferentes células sejam muito grandes, o que impossibilita a sua difusão simples. Nestes animais existem sistemas circulatórios mais ou menos complexos que permitem o intercâmbio de materiais entre as células e o meio externo do organismo.&lt;br /&gt;   Um sistema circulatório compreende sempre:&lt;br /&gt;  Um fluido circulante que garante o transporte dos nutrientes, a circulação de substâncias reguladoras, as trocas gasosas e o transporte dos resíduos azotados a ser A entrada da hemolinfa no coração surge devido à força de sucção que é gerada quando este órgão relaxa.
